The Bay St Louis bridge across St Louis Bay is 2.1 miles long. The road itself is US highway 90 and this area is part of the gorgeous Gulf Coast Scenic Byway.

See also our guide to the absolute best US Coastal Scenic Drives.

The current Bay St Louis bridge opened in May 2007; the previous bridge was destroyed in the Hurricane Katrina storm in 2005.

When walking the bridge from the Bay St Louis entrance toward Pass Christian, you will encounter the (pictured below) landmarks and wonderful art pieces.

Note that there is a parking area along the access road between N Beach Blvd and N 2nd Street. The Bay St Louis bridge is a fantastic daytrip from New Orleans (one hour drive) and is about nine miles from I-10.

Our favorite place to stay in Bay St Louis is Bay Town Inn. See also our other favorite Coastal Mississippi hotels.

Distance markers and local inspired art plaques appear every one-tenth of a mile (0.1 mile).

If you explore a little bit on each end then you will have made a nice 5 mile walk. Hungry? Check out our favorite Mississippi Gulf Coast restaurants.
